February 16, 2017 – Today Britax announced that it is voluntary recalling the Britax B-Agile and BOB Motion Strollers with Click & Go receivers when used as a travel system.
Issue: Involves Click & Go receiver mounts on Britax B-Agile and BOB Motion strollers being used in travel system mode.
Britax has received reports of damaged Click & Go receiver mounts on the stroller frame, which can cause the attached car seat to disengage unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard to infants in the car seat. If the car seat falls to the ground, infants can sustain injuries, such as scratches, bruises, and/or bumps to the head. Some of the reported incidents included minor scratches, bumps and bruises.
This is a voluntary recall. You should immediately stop using your B-Agile and BOB Motion stroller as a travel system, however, it is safe to use your stroller in the recline mode for infants.
There is only one double stroller that is affected by this recall, the Britax B-Agile double stroller. Even if you are not currently using it as a travel system, Twiniversity recommends calling Britax and getting the replacement kit.
FAQ
Q: Do I need to stop using my stroller?
A: You can continue to safely use your stroller as long as the car seat is not attached in travel system mode. Infants can safely ride directly in the fully-reclined stroller.
Q: Why is my stroller being recalled?
A: Britax has received reports of damaged Click & Go receiver mounts on the Britax B-Agile and BOB Motion stroller frames, which can cause an attached car seat in travel system mode to disengage unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard to infants in the car seat.
Q: How did the Click & Go receiver mounts break in the first place?
A: Damage to the Britax B-Agile and BOB Motion Stroller frame’s Click & Go receiver mounts can occur when the stroller is folded while the Click & Go receivers are still attached and then stored or dropped.
Q: I heard there was a recall on my stroller. What should I do?
A: First, you should dispose of your Click & Go receivers, which attach the car seat to the stroller frame. Next, you should visit us.britax.com/recall to request a free set of reinforced Click & Go receivers if you own a single stroller. If you own a B-Agile Double Stroller, you should contact Customer Service at 1-844-227-0300 to learn how to continue using the B-Agile Double Stroller safely for infants. There is no need to return the product to a retailer.
