You don’t need to have triplets to need a triple stroller. Many parents of twins plus one are in dire need of a safe way to transport all three of their little ones. So it just makes sense that here at Twiniversity, we would compile the most comprehensive list of triple strollers that we can in order to make your life easier. Let’s dig in.
Did you know that there are many types of triple strollers, just like there are many types of twin strollers? Let’s break it down section by section so you might be able to figure out which triple stroller is best for you.
We like to cut to the chase, so we’re going to start with one of our favorites for you! Without further ado, may we present to you…the Zoe Trio+ XL3 triple stroller!
Which one is the best triple stroller overall?
Honestly, this may depend on what type of stroller you need and how old your kiddos are. Quite frankly, we LOVE the Zoe Trio+ XL3 triple stroller for so many reasons and tend to say that overall, this will be the best fit for MOST twin+ families.
Zoe Trio + XL3
The Zoe Trio+ XL3 triple stroller is one of the very best on the market, in our humble opinion. The best thing about this triple stroller is it is great for twin families. You start out with the double (Zoe Twin+) and then add the third or even fourth seat later on when needed. That makes this a great choice for twins + 1 or 2, and even great for triplets, or quads! Be aware that, as with many triplet strollers, it can be difficult to find one.
One of the very best things about this Zoe triple stroller is the fact that it only weighs 30 pounds! Could you even imagine a triple stroller that only weighs 30 lbs? It’s lightweight and fairly easy to maneuver. Each seat will hold 45 lbs, and it is even Disney-approved at just 29 inches wide and 51 inches long!
All seats, including triple or quad add-on seats, have a 5-point harness, their own extended canopy, and magnetic peek-a-boo windows to check on your babies. These are the features we have come to love and expect from Zoe strollers.
Most families report that it is very easy to fold. You pull two tabs in the belly bar, a level on the bottom of the seat, and it comes right off. That extra seat can actually fold itself to be even more compact. Then you simply pull the tabs in the two remaining seats and watch as it folds in on itself!
Jogging Triple Strollers
Sad to say, there is literally one TRUE triple jogging stroller on the market, and BeBeLove makes it. It’s extraordinarily hard to find, so your best bet might be to find it second-hand through your local twin club or shop around online through stroller consignment websites. You might be able to grab one on Amazon, but even they seem to be sold out almost every time I’ve checked.
What makes the BeBeLove triple stroller so unique is that it has the typical air-filled treaded front tires (perfect for jogging) in harmony with the same air-filled treaded rear tires. It also has a hand brake for those super-fast runners. You should never attempt to run with your trio unless the stroller has a hand strap and a hand brake. Safety first!

Side By Side Triple Stroller
While the selection is still a bit on the slim side for side-by-side triple strollers, thank goodness you do have a larger selection to choose from in the side-by-side category. Here are a couple of the more popular side-by-side triple stroller choices.
Kids Kargo
Kid Kargo makes a pretty awesome compact side-by-side triple stroller. Kids Kargo is a UK company. This triple stroller can’t be purchased in the US, but if you visit the Kids Kargo website, you can certainly have it shipped to the US.
Mountain Buggy Triple
Another hard-to-find (don’t be mad at me for telling you about these) is the Mountain Buggy Triple Stroller. They aren’t making it anymore, but you can still find a bunch online secondhand. We just found one on eBay. So don’t give up hope if you love this stroller. It’s so well made that even generations later, it still should be in great shape. Check with your local twins’ club too.
What do Twiniversity MoMs say about their own triple stroller?
– I like my Joovy Big Caboose best. We added the rear seat to it and it worked out great for my twins and newborn to all fit into nicely! VDB
– I love the Child Craft Sport Triplet Stroller is what I have for my twins and singleton and I really like it. ZO
– I have the Foundations Trio Sport stroller and I love it. I don’t know what I would do without it! SMN
– We used the Peg Perego Piroet triplet stroller and it was awesome! My husband even agrees and has said it was his favorite stroller. It is really, truly great, it even has a steering wheel. The seats are interchangeable with car seats and I liked that I could have 2 of the seats face each other if I wanted. You can also use 2 of the stroller seats for your twins and an infant car seat for the newborn singleton. There are a lot of options with this stroller. OBG
– For our triplets, we use a double Baby Jogger City Select we hacked into a triple buggy. We just added a third seat. And this is a great triplet buggy especially when you live in a city because it’s very compact. We warmly recommend this solution! JL
– I used my BabyBjorn baby carrier for my singleton and put the twins in my regular stroller for the first few months. Then I bought the Foundations Trio Sport stroller.
Many Twiniversity fans love the Valco system
– I just went through this search for my twins and singleton that are 18 months apart. The Valco Twin Tri-Mode with the added Joey Toddler Seat is what I really really wanted. But we are on a budget so we went with the Joovy Big Caboose. You can add a third seat where the bench is on the back. It’s huge but it gets the job done. HSB
– For short trips when my singleton was a little bigger and I didn’t want to lug my large triplet stroller around, I used my Mercury Triplet stroller. Great for walking the neighborhood. Trying to fit in through doorways is a whole different story, it’s very wide. LA
