A Pennsylvania company is recalling baby wipes sold nationwide, including at Family Dollar, Walgreens and Sam’s Club. The wipes may contain a bacteria called Burkholderia cepacia, or B. cepacia.
The wipes were made by Nutek Disposables, Inc. under the brand names Cuties, Diapers.com, Femtex, Fred’s, Kidgets, Member’s Mark, Simply Right, Sunny Smiles, Tender Touch, and Well Beginnings, the company said. They were sold at Walgreens, Sam’s Club, Family Dollar, Fred’s, and Diapers.com.
The bacteria pose little threat to healthy people but those with weakened immune systems or chronic lung diseases, like cystic fibrosis, are more susceptible to infection from B. cepacia, which is often resistant to antibiotics.
You can return the wipes for a full refund where you bought it. If you have questions, you can call the company at 1-855-646-4351, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET.
