Darragh struggled for years to get pregnant. She started seeing an infertility specialist and tried various treatments while living in New York City. None of them were working and she needed to resort to in vitro fertilization (IVF).

However, Darragh’s health insurance plan did not cover IVF and she could not afford to pay the full cost of IVF in the United States, which is much higher than in any other country in the world.

After feeling so upset at the thought of never having kids, Darragh took matters into her own hands. She started researching what it would cost to have IVF treatments abroad in Europe. Her search led her to a fertility clinic in the Czech Republic where she was able to see an infertility specialist for IVF at a fraction of the cost it would have been in the US.
