We asked our Twiniversity community of parents of multiples to complete this sentence:
Here’s what they had to say!
Learning a new meaning of being exhausted and busy.
Having empathy for mothers. These are my first and I really didn’t understand the amount of turmoil, dedication, physicality, mental anguish and love a mother had and goes through to take care of their children.
I’m a better woman all around. They brought my confidence to an amazing level. I feel I can conquer anything at this point honestly. Sleep deprived, stressed, every emotion all at once and I still manage to keep 2 thirteen month olds super happy! I feel super accomplished
I’m stronger than I thought I was! Also prioritizing, organizing and time management.
Living in the moment! There is always more to do but I will never get these days back with my kids. I truly appreciate that with my twins when I’m not sure I did with my singleton.
Having twins made me better at multitasking and not freaking out over every little thing. Oh and time management, I have to start the leave process so far ahead of when I need to be out the door!
Drinking.
Not giving a crap what other people think. I’m too mentally exhausted to impress anyone.
Understanding how truly blessed I am.
Not taking life seriously. I no longer care about what people think or say about me or my family! I am just trying to survive the day!
Knowing the difference between what matters and what others think matters.
Letting go of things that are beyond my control.
Setting boundaries in relationships. I don’t have time, or energy, for other people’s opinions.
Going with my gut instinct.
Chilling out, not getting so bent out of shape over everything. With twins, you just have to pick your battles
Being grateful for what I have and what I can get,for example an interrupted shower!
Learning what is important as opposed to what I used to think was important.
Having twins made me better at going with the flow and throwing my plans out of the window if necessary.
Having the patience and exterior calmness of a Buddha monk while the twinados are on a nuclear warpath every single minute of every day!!! “Serenity now”
Letting things go, doing what I can and forgetting the rest. I’m a better mom all together.
Feeling like Wonder Woman!! I seriously walk around feeling like a total bad ass now!!!
LOVING two people at the same time.
Cooking instead of eating out.
Multitasking, doing things faster, realizing that I’m enough and working to build other parents up.
Hiding is something I’m better at since having twins. If I need 10 min of peace I really better find a great spot!
Finding ways to do things without my hands.
Having twins made me better at surviving on less sleep than I thought was possible.
Realizing I’m stronger than I thought and I have an amazing husband.
Using my feet as backup arms.
Being organized yet going with the flow and being flexible at the same time. This quote holds true 1000% of the time “I plan, God laughs”
Putting the health and happiness of my children before all else. They come first, it’s just that simple.
Having patience and being a less anxious and more of a happy person!
Not being such a perfectionist and letting my kids do things themselves.
Having twins made me better at giving myself grace.
Giving up on having control.
Having ninja skills. Baby grabs knife off counter while I’m washing dishes, I see and safely take it away before she can blink.
Reflexes, my mother instinct, and being very picky and protective about who has an influence in their and my life.
Thinking of how important it is to stay in shape to take care of my two bundles of joy.
Listening to more than one child at a time
Building barricades around the house!
I’m stronger than I thought I was since having twins! Also prioritizing, organizing and time management.
I’m better at life since having twins.
Not caring what people think. I no longer have the time nor the energy to care if people think I have a few pounds to lose, or my hair isn’t just right, or I’m not wearing makeup. My new motto is “I can’t care!”
Having twins cured my OCD!!!! No lie.
Falling asleep. I used to have trouble falling asleep but now it just happens easily after I lay down!
Running in two different directions in a split second.
Having twins made me better at drinking coffee and wine.
Literally everything.
Opening doors with no hands and hostage negotiations are what I’m better at since having twins.
Loving myself, accepting help and being organized!
Carrying a lot of things at once.
Twins made me better at refereeing, time management and birth control since having twins.
Surviving! I can manage anything, if I can manage my twins!
Eating cold food, planning ahead and smiling are on my list of things that I better at since having twins.
Stress eating and cursing under my breath are 2 things I’m better at since having twins.
Saving money is one of the best things my twins made me better at.
Realizing that every new day is a miracle in its own.
Appreciating the smaller things in life and being patient and not being scared to say no to people.
Twins made me better at being a morning person.
Fitting a lot into a small time.
