Check your labels mamas and daddies! There’s been a recall!
The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Wednesday that Beech-Nut recalled more than 1,900 pounds of baby food after the threat of potential glass contamination was discovered.
According to the USDA, the jars of baby food produced in December was shipped across the country and contains the product numbers 12395750815 through 12395750821.
Beech-Nut issued a statement on its website saying, “At Beech-Nut, we strive to make baby food with the best ingredients nature has to offer – freshly prepared and packaged in clean, safe and environmentally-friendly packaging. So, when any product of ours falls short of those standards, we take swift action to correct it.” (www.beechnut.com)
They have initiated a voluntary recall for their Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken following a single report of a small glass piece found in a jar of the product. Outside of this single report, there is no indication that any other jar of the Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato & Chicken is affected, but as a company of parents and families we are acting with an abundance of caution.
Consumers may receive a refund or replacement food by contacting Beech-Nut at (866) 674-4446 and returning the recalled jar or jars to the store where purchased, the company said.
