Welcome to our new Twiniversity segment, “Ask Nat!” Twiniversity founder Natalie Diaz is the mom of 10-year-old boy/girl twins, president of the Manhattan Twins Club, and teaches twin classes around the country. We thought it would be great to have Nat answer some of our fan questions directly through video!

A MoM wrote in and asked Nat…
“I am a 1st time mom of 11 week old twin boys and I have been worrying sick lately about the situation I am in. To cut a long story short, I am blessed to have a lot of help thanks to my parents and mother in law. However, I’m never alone with the boys except at night! In the morning they urge me to rest and sort of take over. My husband is studying so until his exams are over for this scholastic year he can’t help that much, although he is doing his best. He always helps when asked to but I feel guilty knowing I’m taking him away from his studies the eve of an exam. I’m also getting sick a lot and the worst thing is not being able to hold my babies so I don’t pass them any germs. Once again my parents and mother in law come to the rescue but it makes me feel useless and I worry that I won’t have a bond with the boys. I didn’t manage to breastfeed, so whatever I do they can do also. I appreciate their help and I know sometime I wouldn’t cope if it wasn’t for their help but I am afraid that the babies will get confused and won’t realise that I am their mummy.”
A tough spot to be in, for sure! Watch the video above to see what Nat suggests. She touches on all the points brought up — worrying about not bonding with your babies, not sure how to handle too much help, problems when your spouse can’t be there much due to work or school, and how to keep yourself healthy to make sure you can be there for your babies.
