Learn how to make Santa Hat Party Mix with popcorn and Bugles for your next Christmas party or just to have at home for a festive snack at the holidays.

Christmas time is here! ‘Tis the season for baking, family time, and yummy treats. This recipe has it all! This Santa Hat Party Mix is so easy and fun to make and it’s perfect to include the whole family. My kids loved helping mix the popcorn together and dipping the Santa hats! (Although I’m pretty sure more Bugels ended up in their mouths than in the bowl!)

The lightly salted popcorn and the Bugels mixed with the chocolate give a salty-sweet flavor to the Santa Hat Party Mix that is amazing. Every time I have made this for a group, I go home with a completely empty bowl. The mix is delicious but those little Santa hats are the best part. Trust me, it would not be a problem if you made more Bugels than the recipe calls for.

This Santa Hat Party Mix is so pretty that you could put it in tins or festive bags and give as gifts for teachers or friends with a gift card attached. It’s the perfect treat to bring for holiday get-togethers or to make for your family to enjoy with a cozy Christmas movie!

Ingredients

  • 24 oz. package of almond bark
  • 3 – 3.29 bags of microwave popcorn, lightly salted (not buttered)
  • 3.15 oz. non pareil sprinkles, white
  • 10 oz. milk chocolate holiday M&Ms
  • 7.5 oz. or larger package of Bugels (you only need 25-30 but many in the bag will likely be broken)
  • 25-30 mini marshmallows
  • 1 package Wilton candy melt, red
  • Wax paper

Directions

1. Pop all 3 bags of microwave popcorn and dump into a large bowl. Be sure to remove all the unpopped kernels from the bottom of the bowl.

2. Melt 24 oz. of almond bark in the microwave in a medium bowl or on the stove using a double boiler (buy on Amazon). If using the microwave, microwave for 1 minute and then stir. Continue to microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

7. Dip 25-30 Bugles with a fork one at a time into the candy melts and place on wax paper. (It would not be a problem if more Bugles than this were made. This is always everyone’s favorite part of the mix!)

8. Place dipped Bugles in the fridge for 10 minutes to set. Once set, re-melt the melted candy melts if necessary. Pour sprinkles into a small dish. Dip the very bottom of the Bugles back into the melted candy melts and then dip into the sprinkles to form the bottom of the Santa hats. Dip the very tip of the Bugles into the candy melts and place a mini-marshmallow on top. Let set at room temperature for at least 10 minutes.
