Learn how to make an easy and tasty patriotic fruit pizza with your kids. It’s a great dessert for Labor Day, Veterans Day, or the 4th of July.
Cooking and baking are some of my favorite things to do and I love it when my kids want to help. We are raising a house full of boys and I plan to teach every one of them how to cook for themselves or their future families.
Right now, while they are still young, the best recipes to have them help with are ones that are easy and hands-on for them!
This fruit pizza recipe is a perfect one for kids! It has a bunch of kid-friendly steps and uses pre-made dough for less waiting. Mine love to help press the sugar cookie crust into the pan, spread out the filling, and, of course, decorate the top with fruit!
The strawberries and blueberries make a pretty patriotic-themed dessert, but we’ve also made this with all kinds of fruit! Kiwi, grapes, mandarin oranges, cherries, and pineapple have made for some delicious and beautiful fruit pizzas!

Fruit Pizza Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 – tubes store-bought sugar cookie dough
- 2 – 8 oz. cream cheese blocks, softened
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice
- Fresh strawberries
- Fresh blueberries
- Parchment paper
Directions
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper. (Alternatively, you can grease your jelly roll pan with non-stick spray but if you plan to remove your fruit pizza crust from your pan, parchment paper is the best choice!)
2. Break apart both tubes of sugar cookie dough into small pieces and spread evenly in pan.
3. Using your fingers, press down the sugar cookie dough in an even layer to form a crust. It’s okay if the dough isn’t completely smooth. It will even out with baking and be covered with a cream cheese filling!
4. Bake crust for 15-20 minutes or until crust is set and is a light golden brown. When in doubt, do not overbake! This fruit pizza is best with a softer crust.
5. While crust is baking, use an electric or stand mixer to beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice together until smooth and creamy.
6. Once crust has completely cooled, spread cream cheese filling over the crust.
7. Decorate with blueberries and halved strawberries or another fruit of your choice! Store covered in the refrigerator.
Perfect for a family gathering or a fun Labor Day weekend!
